And So It Begins

One morning in the middle of my board exams, I got an email from my dream college. I knew if I opened it, it would tell me whether or not I had been accepted.
I had an exam in less than an hour - not just any exam, a board exam. If the email carried a rejection letter from the college I had wanted for years, it could distract me and mess up my paper and final grade. The smart thing to do was to quickly sign out of my email and check it in the afternoon.

I opened it.

It was a stupid risk, but it was okay, because I got in. It was the end of nearly six months of waiting, after literal years of preparation - academic, extracurricular, emotional. In about a month from now, I'll be on a twenty-something-hour-long flight to the USA. Not long after that, I'll be an actual full-time college student, living on the opposite side of the world from my parents and brother, and attending university.
It's a bit surreal.

I started this blog to chart my path to college, and then follow my journey in my time there. I'll be talking about how I applied and how I'm handling college life in a new-ish country. Hopefully, it'll help other people too.

One more month of Mumbai monsoon to enjoy. See you soon, California!
